Law Enforcement Response to Active Shooters Killers COURSE GOAL: This course will provide law enforcement attendees with information, expectations, tactics, techniques, leadership, and proper mindset, to survive, and save victims involved in an Active Shooter/killer incident; wherein the Rescue Task Force concept will be utilized. The course will consist of lecture, integration protocols, hands-on isolation drills, and force-on-force scenarios for all students attending this course. COURSE OBJECTIVES: The Deputy will: A. Demonstrate knowledge of Department policies dealing with active shooter response 1. P&P 300 Use of Force 2. P&P 304 Shooting Policy B. Demonstrate the minimum standard of active shooter/violence response tactics. C. Demonstrate the minimum standard of Rescue Task Force, force protection tactics. D. Understand the leadership role of law enforcement when responding to active shooter/violence incidents. E. Demonstrate tourniquet pre-deployment staging and self/victim application. F. Demonstrate sound judgment and decision making. G. Demonstrate inter-agency communication concepts. I. Introduction / Orientation A. Introduction, Registration and Orientation B.
